Tell us what makes you uniquely you

Jacqueline is French. My parents wanted to give me a Western name to assimilate to North American culture when I was born in Canada. As a visual artist, the focus of my artwork is to return dignity to my cultural background.

Tell us about the opportunities in your field that most excite you

I have a degree in Business Management, studied Illustration and have working experience in commercial marketing. I've worked in Toronto, Manhattan, Brooklyn, LA, and with agencies and brands like facebook, instagram, and Jack Morton. Although I wasn't born in the Philippines, my roots in South East Asia—no matter how far I am from it both physically and culturally— will always guide my work.

Tell us what impact you want to make

For all cultures, and not just my own, I know that it is the same for many immigrants in the West. I hope to inspire others to recognize and appreciate their cultural backgrounds which are equally (if not, more) fulfilling.
